Jobs: the board, Job Home and the next thing to do

Every job on one desk — a list, a grid or a board by status. Open one and Job Home reads where it stands and names the next step; every tab of the job is a click away, and the top bar remembers the jobs you were just in.

1. Find the job

Jobs lists every job with its status, client and figures. Search by name or client, filter by status, switch between the list, the grid and the board — a board column is a status, and a card dragged to another column moves the job there. Save the arrangement as a view and it is there next time you open the desk.

2. Start a job

New job on the top bar — or N then J from any desk — asks for the name, the client and the basics, and opens the job on Job Home. Jobs, clients, vendors and cost codes from a spreadsheet come in through Settings → Import, reviewed before anything lands. A service call is a work order: New job → Kind → Work order makes a short record under the client — the scope, the hours and materials, one invoice — and Actions → Convert to a job brings every tab back when it grows.

3. Job Home: the next thing to do

Job Home reads the job's state and names the next step — lock the budget, send the bid packages, bill the month — beside the money tiles and the activity feed. Estimate, Budget, Schedule, Bids, Invoices, Change orders, Files and Specs are one click each; More holds the rest of the job. The feed is the job's Timeline — the team's notes, the daily logs, the owner's portal messages, the money rows and what waits on someone, newest first — in four lanes (Money, Field, Owner, Team), and after a day away a line reads since you left.

4. From the keyboard

G then J opens Jobs from any desk; ⌘K finds a job by name; the top bar's recent jobs are one click back. Press ? on any desk for its help and its keys.

5. Close it out

When the work is done, Closeout gathers the punch list, the warranties and the final documents in one place, and the owner's portal stays readable after the last invoice.
