What's new

What shipped, when, in plain words. Every line is on the product today — nothing here is a roadmap.

October 29, 2026

A faster office, and nothing that moves while you work

  • Every office page starts sooner: the sign-in check reads your account once every ten minutes instead of on every page, and our servers now sit beside your workspace's data
  • The public pages answer without waiting on the sign-in check, and the home page loads lighter on a phone
  • Fixed on the takeoff desk: the sheet never moves under the pointer while you draw — the live quantity has its own place in the focus bar, and on a narrow window the sheet's name shortens first
  • Fixed on a phone: a job's sections fit the screen — the groups slide sideways and More is always in reach
  • Fixed across the office: a job's heading keeps its height while its numbers and next step arrive, so the tabs no longer jump a moment after a job opens; the jobs list, Invoices, Change orders and Team stay still as their lists load; Job Home opens faster
October 28, 2026

Safety on every job, a trade's papers and billing beside the order, every money record's history — and a roadmap you can vote on

  • Safety on every job: fifteen short toolbox talks tagged by trade — held from the office, or passed round on the phone for each person to sign; the sheet on your letterhead with every name. An incident reported the same day, with a photo from the phone, numbered INC-001 on; the log printed on your letterhead under the heading you keep. The log is your record — nothing is filed for you
  • Your own talks and checklists beside the library; an inspection on the phone with a photo on the item it shows, read on the job's Safety tab and printed with the photos beside their items
  • A trade's documents on its card — the file itself, a PDF or a photo — and read where you pick and pay the trade: the leveling board's column and the order's row. Ask for it emails the trade a link; the trade sends its current document without signing in, and it waits on the card until you add it to the record
  • An order revised after it went out — R1, R2, kept with who and when — billed by the trade as its own line; the lien waiver or certified payroll attached to a billing; the review beside your own pay application and the daily logs; the retainage asked for at the end and released with the final waiver
  • Every money record keeps its history — an invoice, a change order, a pay application, an estimate, a budget line, an order, a bill, a selection — what changed, what it was, who changed it and when; read it on the record or the job's Timeline, and export the audit trail by date from Settings → Audit
  • The QuickBooks review reads the other side: open, partly paid, paid or voided there, the payments it links, and a list of what the books show paid that you have not recorded here. Nothing is written to QuickBooks
  • The homeowner picks what they are emailed about; Seen by the owner reads under your messages; when they accept the closeout, five questions and a line, then your review link, once
  • Proposals with sections you arrange — a cover, who you are, milestones, the payment schedule, terms, a warranty, your own — when the client opened it and how long they read, and the choices compared side by side on the portal
  • Write a document from the job on your letterhead — a subcontract, a lien waiver, a warranty certificate, a notice to proceed, a completion letter or your own — sign for the company, and send it for a typed signature from your email
  • Mark up a photo from the job's Photos; share the week's photos with the owner in one step; the time and the place on field photos once you turn the workspace switch on
  • A break on the phone, on the clock; how near the job counts as on site, set for each job; a rule that tells the office when a shift is flagged
  • Settings → Security lists every device signed in to your account, with Sign out; an email when your account signs in somewhere new; Require two-factor sign-in for the whole workspace, off until you turn it on
  • The procurement pack on the Trust Center: sixteen controls in plain words, the facts a reviewer asks, the subprocessors and the support times — one page that prints
  • Learn EstiLumina: a path for each seat — estimator, project manager, bookkeeper, field lead, admin — a ten-question check, a badge on your profile and a certificate on your letterhead
  • The public roadmap: what we are building, planned, considering and shipped — and what we chose not to build, with the reason; sign in to suggest a request and vote
  • Mention a teammate who has no account yet and the comment offers to invite them
  • Fixed on the phone: Field opened on site with no signal keeps what you capture for the office and shows the job as you last saw it; on a tablet the crew shares, what each person captures waits for that person's sign-in, and the jobs kept for no signal are each person's own; results tapped quickly on an inspection are all kept; a punch item closed with its photo reads Closed with proof in the office, and lands once
  • Fixed in the estimate and the billing: a wall drawn as a length, on an assembly priced by the square foot, asks once for its height and prices the length × the height; whole-dollar lines add up to the total shown — on the estimate, the proposal, the portal and the owner's email; the Qty box shows a quantity's two decimals whole; a new pay application opens with the job's contract and your company's name, and the next one carries the schedule of values with each line's work to date, each change order counted once; a break taken off a clocked shift, or its hours edited, counts in the job's labor actuals, the reports and the cash forecast; an invoice marked paid with no payment recorded here read as owed on its PDF; the still-owed export lists only the invoices still owed; the cash-flow forward counts an approved trade billing once
  • Fixed across the office: a job that could not be read for a moment is never saved over — the page says so, with Try again; a change made in the second before you close a tab or reload is kept in that browser and put back when you next open that desk — or, if the job changed since, the desk says so; the operations desk keeps your edit when a teammate's change arrives in the same moment; a rule that fires once per record fires once, however busy the others are; the audit trail keeps every link made for a trade or an architect and every e-signature notice; a proposal's card reads where the proposal is; an evening's records carried the next day's date; the top bar on a tablet and a phone; the dashboard's Arrange on a phone; a few menus that opened past the window's edge

A month-end in an hour, a spreadsheet pasted into the estimate, help one key away — and the job's whole story in one stream

  • Every list you work in sorts from a heading, shows the columns you choose in the order you choose, and exports what you see as CSV or Excel — saved for you, per list: Invoices, Change orders, the job's Commitments and Vendor bills, the Catalog's items and assemblies, the Takeoff report's layout
  • The Estimating worksheet and the job's Estimate and Budget tabs from the keyboard: Enter down a column, Shift+Enter up, the arrows between rows and across the row; the tick and the description stay put while the sheet scrolls
  • Bulk edit: one field, one value, every ticked line — a preview names each line's old → new — with one Undo; the ±% adjust and the waste and price buttons gained the same Undo
  • Paste an estimate and the sheet shows what each pasted column is read as, yours to change; Carry blanks down fills the gaps; waste and markup columns land
  • Month-end on Reports: the WIP schedule, AR aging, the 30-day cash forward, profitability by job, labor against budget by cost code, commission by the rule you set, job cost by division — each on your letterhead, printable, exportable, the math a hover away; the jobs and dates you pick remembered for you
  • Settings → Lead form: pick the fields, add up to five questions of your own, one script tag on your website — every inquiry lands on your leads board with its source; the board gains a Sources report
  • A catalog price change reaches your open estimates as an offer, never on its own: Used in N open estimates, a per-estimate diff, Apply with one Undo; a sent, approved or archived estimate is never touched
  • Price the next job from what the last one actually cost: New estimate from these actuals… on the budget desk — every line at its actual cost per unit with its delta against what you estimated, the comparison on your letterhead
  • Options after the signature: the client's choices read on the signed proposal; Apply the choices to the estimate; Change the choices… writes the difference as a change order draft; the tiers compared side by side, a photo on each
  • The spec book writes itself: From the estimate… on the Specs tab turns divisions into headings and lines into sentences, the alternates as Not included; regenerate and you read a diff; hand-written sections are never touched
  • The leveling grid reads the award per line — who holds each line, each bidder's awarded sum
  • A service call is a work order: New job → Kind → Work order — one client, one scope, one invoice; convert it to a job when it grows. A labor rate per person or per cost code on a cost-plus or time-and-materials job
  • Bill from photo: the receipt or invoice photo read on your device; the draft's fields are yours to confirm; nothing saves until you say so
  • Job Home's feed is one stream — notes, daily logs, the owner's portal messages, the audit trail, what waits on someone — in four lanes, with since you left
  • The schedule asks why when a task moves later; the trade confirms new dates in one click from your email; holidays shaded; the ten-day forecast over the days; every task read against its baseline
  • A rule can create a task with an owner; a bid package out to one trade waits on that trade with its own link; approvals are a kind of their own on Waiting on
  • Press ? on any desk: this desk's article, the money words its headings carry, the keys. G then a letter opens a desk; N then a letter starts a job, an estimate, an invoice or a change order. Five new help articles. A dot on the account menu when What's new moved
  • The office's speed is measured on every release — a job opened, 500 lines pasted, a figure typed, a sort, a filter — against targets that only tighten; every office route is measured at a tablet's and a phone's width; the Content Security Policy reports before it enforces

Takeoff Properties on a laptop screen

  • On a laptop-sized screen Takeoff Properties scrolls to Estimate details instead of squeezing it under the sections around it — the price, the waste and the assembly stay within reach
October 21, 2026

Measure your own plans free, the proof behind every amount you send, and a takeoff desk two estimators share

  • A new takeoff line starts with its setup: press L, A or C and the desk asks for the name, the category and color, the dimensions the type can use and an assembly or a price — Enter starts, every shape you draw next joins the line until Esc, and Skip draws with a minted name
  • Every color inside the takeoff: the quick sixteen, More for every hue by shade and the greys, Any color for your browser's own picker, or a hex you type
  • Suggest rooms: with the area tool on a vector PDF, the rooms the sheet's own lines close are proposed — click each one you want and Confirm, or Alt-click inside one room to propose just that one. Each picked room shows the square feet Confirm will write, and on a calibrated sheet a doorway is closed jamb to jamb. Nothing is drawn for you
  • Pitch, depth and spacing beside the quantity you drew: a roof's sloped area, a slab's or a trench's cubic yards, the members across a framed area — in the row, the report, the export and the push, and assemblies price from them
  • Lock a line item when it is done: it carries your name and the time, and a move, an erase or an edit waits for the unlock. Every shape carries who drew it and who last edited it
  • Two of you on one takeoff see each other's cursor on the sheet, name-tagged, and the shapes the other has selected in their color
  • Push to estimate a second time and the desk shows each line as it is and as it would be — the change, the price move, the shapes that came and went — then Apply moves the changed lines in place, with one Undo. Lines typed on the estimate are never touched
  • A price typed in Takeoff Properties prices the whole line item — every mark of a count, every run of a wall — and Push to estimate writes the line once, at that price; one Undo takes it back from every shape
  • A double-click on a line of several shapes in Quantities opens its Takeoff Properties — the selection bar no longer moves the list under your second click
  • Erase all on a consolidated line asks first; a Quantities row drags onto a category or area folder; the Outputs switches decide whether hidden lines go into the export and the report, and whether a push writes one line per area
  • When a trial ends, the takeoff desk stays yours — one job, three sheets, lengths, areas and counts at a calibrated scale, the estimate worksheet and the quantities exported, with no card and no end date. Proposals, budgets, invoices and the owner portal are on the packages, and each one asks at the door with the package named and priced
  • Try the desk at /try, press Keep this, and what you measured on the sample plans is waiting in your own workspace after you sign up
  • The link you already send is the proof: on a shared invoice the amount opens How this amount was reached — the schedule they agreed, billed before and this period, what is held back, paid and still to pay — in your client's words, never your cost or margin
  • Down to the sheet: a schedule line written From the budget reads the measured lines beneath it, and the check runs as the page opens — Checked just now: the schedule adds up to the invoice — on the invoice and on its application for payment
  • A shared proposal's total opens its lines and the sheet under a measured one; a shared change order's amount opens its lines. Proof on shared documents is on for new workspaces, and Settings → Workspace switches turns it on or off for yours
  • Preview PDF on a proposal prints the page its preview shows: the selections and allowances, the schedule of values, the cost breakdown, the pricing (none when the pricing summary is off), the inclusions and exclusions, the options and the client's approval lines
  • From the budget, in an invoice's schedule of values: one line per division of the job's budget, the agreement spread across them to the cent, every figure yours to edit
  • Confirm the dates from the phone: Today lists the schedule now and over the next two weeks, and Confirm these dates tells the office the crew will be there — the office's schedule shows who confirmed and when
  • The job's tasks on the phone: add one, mark it done or reopen it, with or without a signal; the office's Tasks tab has it the moment it is sent, marked from the field
  • Field opens with no signal on a job the phone has opened before, any tab of it; the office's punch row shows the before and after photos side by side; Sync's Keep on this phone sets how long the phone keeps its copies
  • On the bid link you send, a trade can keep the job in a free account of its own: Your bids lists every link builders have sent it, with its billing across every builder underneath, and a trade that already has an account signs in from the link and comes back to it. Nothing of yours is copied
  • Guides at /guides — a roof takeoff, a drywall takeoff, setting the scale on a PDF plan, the pay application, from a takeoff to a budget — and calculators at /calculators for roof pitch, concrete slabs, framing members, drywall sheets and paint
  • Two people on one job's estimate, budget, schedule or bid packages — or one person with it open in two tabs — no longer undo each other's change: each edit is written as the change it is
  • An award made on the Leveling tab and a quote a trade sends through its link reach the Bids tab while it is open, and Quotes received tells you once when a trade answers; moving a line's award to another trade moves it whole
  • A worksheet line keeps its options and its measurement after a reload, a change on Project controls is saved even when you leave the page the moment after making it, and every page loads lighter
October 19, 2026

Undo for a wrong click, the math behind every number, a schedule that moves as one, and a field that works with no signal

  • Undo a delete for ten seconds — a daily log, a photo, an RFI, a punch item, a schedule task, a catalog line, a vendor card, a saved view — and find it later in Settings → Recycle bin; what is irreversible or already outside the workspace asks first instead
  • Click any figure on an estimate, a budget, an invoice or a pay application and read where it came from, step by step, down to the shapes on the sheet it was measured from
  • Close the laptop mid-sentence: a half-written log, comment or invoice is offered back the next time you open that form, with the time you left it
  • A card that cannot load says so and offers Retry while the rest of the page keeps working; Report a problem sends the facts with your words so nobody has to ask
  • The keyboard reaches everything the mouse does, in page order, on every office page; a screen reader hears every control's name
  • One word for each thing, everywhere — and the homeowner and the trade never read the office's words for money (the glossary is at /help/glossary)
  • Parameters on an estimate: type a wall height once and every line that reads it follows
  • Options the client picks — Good / Better / Best tiers and optional items on the proposal; the client's choices travel with the signature and land once on the contract
  • Three contract types on every job — fixed price, cost-plus, time and materials — with the open book on Invoices for the last two: every approved bill and closed shift priced by your fee rules into a draft invoice, cost + fee = total to the cent, and the client reads What this invoice covers
  • Assemblies from your own price book, metric and imperial side by side on hover, and overhead and margin presets for the worksheet's foot
  • Rules: nine triggers, four actions, every rule off until you turn it on, with a dry run that says what would fire today and sends nothing
  • Import clients, vendors, jobs and cost codes from a spreadsheet export — reviewed line by line before anything lands, and undone in one step for a day
  • Ball-in-court on everything that waits on someone outside the office — one list on the job home and on My Day, oldest first, with a Nudge that opens your mail app with the words written
  • Reply from the email: a trade acknowledges a purchase order, answers an RFI or declines a bid request with one click from the email you sent, and the office reads it at once
  • Sub billing through the trade's own link: the trade bills against the order's schedule of values; the office reviews the lines and approves into AP progress draws
  • The time clock, auditable: a supervisor approves shifts one or all at once; every office edit is written on the entry; a break takes its minutes off
  • Trade compliance: insurance, workers' compensation, license and safety documents on every vendor with their dates; an order to a vendor whose required document is missing or expired asks first
  • A schedule that moves as one: drag a task and the desk offers to move everything downstream by the same workdays, with Undo; a delay log that says which task moved, from when to when, and why
  • Every printed document on your letterhead with the page rules a printer expects; every email on one template with a plain-text part and one link
  • A punch item closes from the phone only with a photo of the finished work; the photo lands in Photos beside the before photo; the office reads closed with proof
  • Sync on the phone: what is waiting, what left, what was refused and why — and what the office kept
  • Orders and bills readable on the phone, and the last copy the phone saw when there is no signal
  • Every workspace's figures are checked against their own arithmetic every night; /status reads how many nights clean
  • Two desks open on the same job no longer write to each other every second, and the office desk takes what the phone, a portal page or a trade wrote while it was closed
October 14, 2026

The job's Estimate tab takes a paste, the sample opens on its floor plans, and the desk coaches the first measurement

  • Paste an estimate on the job's Estimate tab too: the lines land as one division per category, the Estimate total reads them, and Push Estimate to Budget carries them to the Budget tab
  • Try the desk at /try and it opens straight on the sample's floor plans at their printed 1/4" — no card to click first
  • An empty desk now coaches the first measurement in three steps — the scale (ticked when the sheet already has one), a printed dimension traced with L, an area or a count — and steps aside by itself after the first shape
  • The getting-started ladder's estimate rung ticks on the first line you paste or type, never on an empty record
October 7, 2026

Your first measurement in a minute, a desk to try without an account, and the estimate you already have

  • The sample house set opens with every page already scaled — 1/8" on the site plan, 1/4" on the rest — so the first line you draw is a real length
  • A sheet that prints its scale in the title block is offered in one press under the status strip — This sheet says 1/4" = 1'-0" · Use — and a sheet with nothing printed is told the two ways to set one
  • Try the takeoff desk at /try with no account: the sample set, already scaled, in your own browser — nothing is saved anywhere but that browser
  • Paste the estimate you already have: copy the lines out of your spreadsheet into the Estimating worksheet or the job's Estimate tab — tabs or commas, a header row or none — and they are read back to you, with anything that could not be read and why, before a single line is added
  • Pay for a year at a time: every package for the price of ten months, chosen in Settings → Billing before Checkout and shown beside the monthly price on /pricing
  • A unit cost with cents now reads with its cents on the worksheet, the budget line and the proposal breakdown — the arithmetic on screen checks
  • The job's Estimate tab keeps every reader in step — Job Home, the budget desk, proposals and reports show the estimate as it is today, and Push Estimate to Budget lands on the Budget tab
September 15, 2026

The homeowner's portal opens as a home screen — and a weekly summary they can ask for

  • A homeowner's project now opens the way they read it on a phone: the latest site photo as the cover, This week (what happened, what's next, what needs them), the decisions waiting with one verb each, photos by week, selection boards with product photos and links, the schedule as milestones, and who to call
  • Money in the same numbers your job home shows — agreed, approved changes, current agreement, invoiced so far, paid, due now, the next payment — never a builder's cost figure dressed as the owner's
  • A product link on every selection choice card: set it in the office, the homeowner opens it from the card
  • Weekly summary email the homeowner turns on from their project page — Monday mornings, only when something happened or something needs them
  • QuickBooks: every push starts with what will push — what will be created, what is already in QuickBooks, what is not ready and why — before a single document is created
  • Cost catalog: a starter cost book to begin from — about 700 residential lines from site prep through landscaping, by category, every rate dated so you confirm it before an estimate relies on it
  • No plans handy? Try a sample sheet on any empty takeoff desk — a seven-page residential set to draw on — and the sample job now comes with it; neither counts against a trial
  • Getting started is now the ladder itself — job, sheet, measure, estimate, send, invoice — ticked from what you actually did, staying on a trial workspace's dashboard until the first draw is out
  • Three short setup emails on day 1, 3 and 7 of a trial, each about the one next step, each with a link that stops them — nothing for workspaces already at work
  • The status page's 90-day history now shows every day, today included (its read had stopped at the first thousand checks), and What's new opens without signing in
September 14, 2026

Organization: an Accounting seat, the roles matrix with every override, honest job counts, and invites by the list

  • Accounting is its own role — sends invoices and records payments on every job, writes no commitments or takeoff — and the desk now shows exactly what the database allows for it
  • Settings → Permissions is the roles matrix: eight roles, how many people sit on each, and every teammate whose grants differ from their role with what was added or withheld, one click back to defaults
  • The Team page says which jobs a person is actually on ("All" for a role that sees every project, the assigned count otherwise), how many open mentions wait for them, and the member card carries their assignments and latest recorded action
  • Invite several people at once: paste addresses one per line or comma-separated, with or without names, the list is checked against the roster, and the result says who was emailed and which links to share
September 14, 2026

Takeoff on iPad: the pen draws, a finger pans, and the desk fits a tablet

  • Draw with the Apple Pencil exactly as with a mouse; one finger pans the sheet, two fingers pinch and pan, a tap places or selects, a held finger opens the shape menu; a resting palm is ignored
  • "Finger draws" on the Tools ribbon makes a finger behave as the pen when you have no pencil — a per-device choice
  • On a tablet the office sidebar becomes an icon rail, the Quantities panel opens over the sheet as a drawer, every control on the takeoff chrome is a 44-pt target, and holding a finger on any icon shows its name
  • On an iPad, after the first sheet opens, a one-time card explains Share → Add to Home Screen — the desk then opens full screen with the last sheet ready offline
  • Discussions reach invoices and RFIs, and the presence strip on every job surface says who is here right now
September 14, 2026

People: a discussion on every job with @mentions, a fuller profile, and notifications you choose

  • Every job home has a discussion — @mention a teammate and it lands in their inbox; resolve what is settled; the thread updates live for everyone on the job
  • Your profile carries a title, phone, timezone, units and a signature line, with a completeness figure so a team can see who is set up
  • Notification preferences per person: which kinds reach the inbox, email and push; a digest hour; quiet hours; the desk EstiLumina opens on
