Selections & allowances: boards to budget
Selection boards keep finish decisions on the same job as the money. Offer topics with choice cards, let the homeowner pick on the portal, then sync allowance lines into the budget — overage becomes a change you draft, not a surprise.
1. Offer a selection topic
Open Selections and create a topic with as many choice cards as you need — one card is one choice. Set single or multi pick and a decide-by date so decisions do not stall the schedule.

Invited owners see the board in their project portal and pick there. Write-in suggestions come back to you for review — the homeowner and the budget always see the same pick.
Selection boards →3. Sync allowances into the budget
When decisions land, sync allowance lines into the job budget and review the variance. Handoff buttons return you to Budget or Job Home on the same job.
Open Budget →4. Turn overage into a signed change
When a pick runs past its allowance, draft a change from the overage. The owner approves it in the portal with a typed name before you buy the upgrade — the money story stays honest.
