Estimate → proposal → send
The workspace estimate is the takeoff-to-proposal worksheet. The job Estimate tab is the hierarchical budget editor. Push quantities, price, then send a proposal the client can approve.
1. Price the worksheet
Open Estimating with a job selected. Takeoff handoff lands as lines. Set waste and unit cost — select several lines to apply the same waste or price at once. Lines linked to the cost catalog carry a Catalog $x · Update badge when the price has moved and a Rate N mo ago badge when it is stale — Update all refreshes every linked line at once, with Undo. Save a priced worksheet as a template, grouped by trade, so the next job like it starts priced, not blank.

When the worksheet is ready, push flat lines onto the job budget. Locked budgets must be unlocked on the job first. The job Estimate tab stays the hierarchical editor.

Create a proposal from the estimate. Merge tokens fill job, client, SOV total, and exclusions. Preview PDF opens the print view of the page the preview shows — the blocks the Layout switches turn on, the pricing (none when it is off) and the client's approval lines — before you send for typed approval.
